jess - 1-07-07 - Gor 101

[21:21] (jesszabelle): ---`-,-{@-Tonight's Topic: Introducing Gor 101 -@}-,-`--- : How do we explain what Gor is in a friendly way to those who are interested without overwhelming them or immediately telling them they must read 26 books? How can we give an overview that allows them to judge if they're interested in continuing their explorations?--

jess - 1-08-07 - Conflict Resolution

[20:04] (jesszabelle-tsh): Tonight's Topic: Conflict Resolution: Conflict can be the most mild disagreement to outright argument. It may be between yourself and another Gorean; between Goreans and mundanes; inner conflict. How does being Gorean impact how you deal with conflict? Do you find that this then changes how they respond to you?

[20:06] ({alyria}Gareth`TSH): that's an interesting topic, jess
[20:06] (jesszabelle-tsh): thanks, alyria
[20:06] ({alyria}Gareth`TSH): Some conflicts i dismiss outright, wish them well, and let them go without the benefit of my wonderful, intelligent insights.
[20:07] ({alyria}Gareth`TSH): if i bother to clash with someone at all, there is something at stake, some investment in that relationship.
[20:08] ({alyria}Gareth`TSH): it's pretty simple to let someone go their merry way without comment if you don't care about them in the first place.

jess - 1-11-07 - Basic Skills

[22:02] (jesszabelle-tsh): -=Today's Topic: Basic Skills Test: kajirae, what skills do you have or would you cultivate to better please a Master? Masters, what skills do You have or would You like to cultivate to be a better Master? Masters and kajirae, what skills would you suggest to either? Everyone's input is encouraged, new and experienced alike!=-

jess - 1-12-07 - Flash Fire

[22:10] (jesszabelle-tsh): ---`-,-{@-Tonight's Topic: Flash Fire -@}-,-`--- : Under what circumstances can a blazing slave belly be reduced to a flicker? Moreover, can we -- how do we -- turn that flickering ember back into the raging slave belly it once was?--
[22:11] (kardelan{S-F}): usually someone thats lost the fire..they were in a bad relationship..and that just takes time
[22:12] (kardelan{S-F}): if they have had more than one bad relationship..well, things get a lil dicey then..cuz you got a lot of emotional baggage to deal with
[22:12] (Wyrd): Yep, step one, correct what put the fire out, which may not be possible if they are still with the one who put it out.
[22:12] (Zarius): a slave must be praised, for the good she does, and not beaten down, to kill a slave fire, you only have to ignore the slave, verbally abuse the slave, or simply beat the slave down time and again, and never give them praise

jess - 1-14-07 - Nature v Nurture

[22:04] (jess{C}t-tsh): ---`-,-{@-Tonight's Topic: Nature v. Nurture -@}-,-`--- : So many Goreans have been dealt rough hands throughout their lives. For example, surviving ordeals at tender ages contributes to who we become as adults. Have we simply learned over the years how to overcome challenges, and in doing so, cultivated an appreciation for qualities and skills that fit the Gorean model?--
[22:17] ({alyria}Gareth): Did anyone find it refreshing in the books to read "Gor is harsh." "Gor is unfair." without there being a bit of whining to those statements?
[22:19] (wenchW): one of my fav quotes is "whatever hits the fan is NOT going to be distributed evenly"
[22:19] ({alyria}Gareth): i find it empowering to acknowledge those things bluntly
[22:21] (wenchW): on the other hand, i think a lot of it is about perspective...
